High Altitude Expeditions

Himalaya, Alaska or South America?

If you're planning a trip to the world's major ranges and peaks, it pays to hire a guide  who's been there, done it and got the badge.

As well as many personal expeditions, Rob is successfully guiding clients to the world's 7000 and 8000 metre peaks including:

  • Ama Dablam (6856m)
  • Baruntse (7129m)
  • Island Peak (6189m) and Mera Peak (6476m)
  • Aconcagua  (6962m)
  • Everest - North Ridge Route (8848m)

Rob's Expedition bookings are handled through Adventure Peaks, the  specialists in worldwide mountaineering expeditions and courses, based in Ambleside, England.

Responsible Tourism

Rob acts with great responsibility to each place he visits and works to ensure that the expeditions he leads have a positive impact on the people, their local community and the environment.

As expedition leader, Rob works in conjunction with local staff. He provides the technical and safety expertise and the local people provide the local knowledge. We learn from each other and regularly provide technical training.

Expeditions and treks are organised to minimise their impact on the environment:

  • groups are kept small
  • using wood for fuel is discouraged
  • avoid polluting water
  • remove all litter and, where possible and practical, human waste.

Many items are bought from the local community, provided the quality is of an acceptable level, for example food, snacks and base camp equipment.
