Greetings and Salutations from a very HOT HOT HOT Chamonix valley. Conditions aren't that good at the moment for snowy type stuff as it's not refreezing overnight.

The forecast is stating that the freezing level over Monday night into Tuesday will be at around 4700m to 4800m and -10C at 6100m to 6300m.

We have some storm action over night on Tuesday, with snow/rain limit around 4100 metres, I do hope it will clear the air a bit. It’s then due to warm up again towards the end of the week. I would be definitely keeping a sharp eye out for crevasses opening up more at the moment with all this snow melt.

So what's been getting done:
4/7/15    Peutery Ridge Integrale, sounded like it was ok on the whole but with some scary snow sections due to the soft snow, which was down to the heat.
5/7/15    Traverse of the Bionnassay, Miage, Mont Blanc, descent by Mont Maudit and M.B du Tacul, mention of crevasses opening up on both Maudit and Tacul on descent, BE AWARE !!!!
4/7/15   Diedre Central, Rock Route, Plateau Jardin from Argentiere hut, also mention of crevasses opening up on the glacier up there as they walked back down from the Grand Montets to the valley, long walk !!!

So the message is choose your routes carefully at the moment and don't expect the snow to be nice and solid when you head out in the early hours.

I'm resting an unhappy ankle at the moment, bouldering...........BUGA !!!!!

Take care out there
