Just a quick update folks - be aware that due to the hot temps of late, a lot of routes are getting quite tricky to get to. The traverse of the valley Blanche, Aig Midi to Torino hut is getting quite dangerous in places, crevasses opening up, weak snow bridges etc. It’s possible to do, but with great care. There’s a lot of hard ice on routes in places where you’d normally expect snow cover to be, so again be prepared for this. There were 8 people lifted off the Walker Spur over the past few days and unfortunately a fatality on the Aig Argentiere, due to a slip on very hard ice at the top. These hot temps are due to continue, so plan accordingly and check with the local guides office and/or the hut you are intending to go to, before you head out.
